Perspectus, in conjunction with HKS Architects, was responsible for preparing bridging documents for a Design/Build delivery method.
The New Residence Hall is a seven-story student residence building located on the north side of Case Western Reserve University’s campus. The building is designed to reinforce the sense of community in the existing student housing district of the campus.
The project will provide two 290-bed student residence halls, a student amenity building and associated site improvements. The first floor of the main building is unique to student housing in that it contains eight two-story townhomes.
The Perspectus / HKS team completed a student housing study to assess and evaluate five potential sites for a new student residence hall for upper class students.
This study identified the most advantageous site to locate the new residence hall, addressing a housing shortage due to increased student enrollment.
The design team developed student housing room types and planning modules which resulted in a prototype space program as well as primary selection criteria for evaluation of each site.
