A renovation to an existing surgery suite, the new Hybrid Operating Room is one of the largest in the Cleveland Clinic system. The facility is used primarily for peripheral vascular cases but can be quickly converted to a full open surgical suite, even during treatment. The Hybrid OR has the capability to place the patient on heart/lung bypass if necessary.
The Philips Allura Clarity system with Flex Move was the first Northeast Ohio installation of this technology. It offers significantly lower radiation than previous systems which is a benefit to both patients and care providers.
The Hybrid OR has new technology to maximize energy savings with intelligent HVAC controls to reduce airflow when the room is idle, LED overhead and surgical lights for heat and electrical savings, as well as more efficient imaging technology to reduce X-ray loads.
