Provided architectural design services for renovation of the existing first floor Surgery Department to accommodate a New Hybrid Operating Room and a New General Surgery Operating Room.
Low existing floor to floor heights and direct adjacency to the existing Surgery Department of the area of renovation required an extremely tight tolerance for above ceiling coordination and project phasing to allow existing Surgery Department to remain operational.
Perspectus participated in the equipment selection to ensure that the vendor equipment would fit within the existing building and that the functional needs of staff were met.
With the new Richard M. and Yvonne Hamlin Hybrid Operating Room Suite, Summa can now offer procedures that combine traditional surgical techniques with cardiac catheterization.
To make room for the new Operating Rooms, the existing Central Sterile Processing Department was relocated to the Basement Level.
Design services were provided for the build-out of approximately 14,500 square feet of a new three-zone, single-directional Central Sterile Processing Department. Perspectus assisted with equipment selection and worked with the staff to establish the ideal workflow lay-out for instrument and cart cleaning. Separating the three cleaning stages into distinct zones reduced the potential for cross-contamination and increased efficiencies.
